Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui - Loves to Condemn Muslims -Uncle Tom would be proud
Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui is my first entry. Why you say? Because his comments on the 'niqab' issue, raised by Jack Straw, was the last straw that broke the camels back. This guy claims to be the leader of the Muslim Parliament. Well its a grand title, but when one realises that the Muslim Parliament, is comprised mostly of his family members only. And the annual meeting of the Muslim Parliament can be held in a cupboard, this shows the representation he has of the Muslim community. Which is nothing at best. So how does he ingratiate himself to a anti-Muslim agenda.
When it came to Jack Straws quite Islamophobic and quite stupid claims that the niqab (face veil) are signs of seperation. When it's clear that its a choice of the women who wear them, as even Patricia Hewitt, the health secretary, and even John Prescott conceded, and it was there right, Dr Siddiqui, came to the rescue of Jack Straw's Islamophobic agenda, with the following statement,
In the Guardian newspaper he said;
Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, leader of the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain, endorsed Mr Straw's intervention, saying that fewer than 5% of Muslim women wore niqabs. "This is not a religious issue but a cultural one. Mr Straw has opened a debate within the Muslim community and encouraged interaction. Muslims themselves have failed to create a mechanism to discuss these issues. That is why they have had to be discussed out in the open." Monday October 9, 2006.
Its not a cultural issue Dr Siddiqui, its an Islamic opinion, held by many Islamic schools of thought. Yet this is something which Dr Siddiqui chooses to look over, so that he can look like a moderate in the eyes of this government.
Pro-Israeli Dr Siddiqui
Commenting on reports PC Basha (who refused to stand guard outside the Israeli Embassy) feared for the safety of his Lebanese wife if he had been made to guard the Embassy, Mr Siddiqui said: "I can't see any reason for him to be let off guarding the Embassy. "In what way would his family be in any sort of danger? I think what is important is we take a stand and say this sort of behaviour is not right. (http://www.lse.co.uk/ShowStory.asp?story=KH529797C&news_headline=muslim_cop_slammed_over_embassy_guard_refusal)
- Just because Palestinians are suffering should not mean the suffering of Jews in the Holocaust should not be remembered. “I want to maintain this Holocaust Day, but let’s try and remember all the other genocides suffered by ordinary people on another day. (http://www.muslimparliament.org.uk/holocaust.htm)
He has allegedly attacked the Palestinian resistance in meetings.
This will be updated.....however if any of you can get any other quotes where he has a go at the Muslim Community and Muslims, feel free to post them. Please add references when doing so.

What have his views on Holocaust Day got to with his "pro-Israeli" stance? Don't make the same mistake apologists for Israeli crimes do by confusing the two.
He has allegedly attacked the Palestinian resistance in meetings.
So, you can't document anything? Your analyses of what people have said will lose credibility if you can't document what someone has "allegedly" said.
The Muslim Parliament of Britain began life as a pro-Iranian group under Kalim Siddiqui (no relation), and has since descended into a token irrelevance.
wasalam
Mr Thabet, his pro-Israeli stance is based upon his condemnation of Palestian groups, and acceptance of the occuapation, which have been confirmed by witnesses he have heard him explicitly,
